What is CNX?

CNX is a virtual event that aims to unite prominent thinkers, influencers, and various stakeholders from across the globe. The event aims to facilitate connections, stimulate inspiration, encourage collaboration, and provide valuable insights into the latest event innovations and future developments. This year, CNX is focusing on sustainability, metaverse-like immersive events, and the future of events will look 2023 and beyond.

Pedro Pereira, LAC Chief Sustainability Officer at SAP

Pedro Pereira is the Chief Sustainability Officer at SAP Latin America and the Caribbean. He counts on 20 years of international experience in entrepreneurial and corporate innovation helping responsible business leaders to make a positive impact and organizations to build value for the planet, people, and profits. Besides SAP, Pedro is an active member of the global startup and innovation ecosystems. He holds a board advisory role and is an investor for Repple.com, an all-star mentor at Techstars, and a Venture Partner at SAP.iO.

Dan Sobrinski, Director of Sustainability Energy and Climate Change at WSP 

A business leader and registered Professional Engineer (P.E.), Dan Sobrinski has over 22 years of experience in program strategy, greenhouse gas (GHG) management, net zero science-based goals, renewable energy and decarbonization, carbon pricing, and climate resilience. He is a founding member and currently serves as Director of WSP’s 120+ person Sustainability, Energy, and Climate Change (SECC) practice, which is within the company’s Climate, Resilience, and Sustainability (CRS) National Business Line. For two decades, SECC has been a pioneering sustainability consulting practice that has guided innovative and future-ready client programs that have been recognized by the UNFCCC, US EPA, and CDP for their leadership in addressing climate change. As a member of the Green-e Governance Board, Dan is helping develop environmental commodities and products that mitigate climate change and help build a sustainable energy future.

Luiz Martins, CMO at 6Connex

Luiz boasts more than 25 years of experience in marketing, sales, and operations at several multinational companies. As an executive at Esko, 1WorldSync, and Mitsubishi, Martins established a track record of success globally launching SaaS-based technologies. Early in his career, Martins was a partner and Brazil country manager for a start-up company funded by J.P. Morgan and Morgan Stanley.

Cara Poole, Customer Experience Manager at 6Connex

Cara is currently a Customer Experience Manager at 6Connex. However, she started her journey with 6Connex as a Senior Project Manager helping customers implement the product into their event strategy. Prior to joining 6Connex, she spent 10 years as a Meeting and Events planner in the third-party and association space, organizing both physical and virtual events globally for 20-4000+ attendees. Her passion for the events industry comes from the overall attendee experience and knowing that one of the secrets to a successful event is staying calm under pressure. She is a proud Hoosier, graduating from Indiana University with a degree in Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management. In her spare time, she’s keeping up with a two-year-old, two dogs, and two cats while exploring Indianapolis, IN.

Marley Finnegan, CEO & Founder at PURPOSE

Marley Finnegan, Founder of sustainable event technology Purpose Net Zero + sustainable event consultancy Purpose Sustainability Strategy, has over 17 years of experience in all facets of the large-scale events industry, having played vital roles in partnerships, strategy, business development, and sales for some of the nation’s highest performing event agencies. Marley is a GRI Certified Sustainability Professional, Certified Sustainable Event Professional by the Events Industry Council, and privately educated by the creator of MPI’s Sustainable Event Strategist Certification. Having worked in all aspects of the event life cycle - including high-volume venues, event design, decor, catering, and event management; she’s intimately familiar with each process step.

Mercedes HuntDirector of Energy and Sustainability at Marriott International

Mercedes Hunt, Ph.D. is a passionate sustainable event enthusiast. She is the Director of Energy and Sustainability at Marriott International. She is also on the board of the Sustainable Event Alliance, whose purpose is to bridge international people and organizations to promote sustainable events. Though she works in the industry, Mercedes considers herself an academic at heart. She has conducted extensive research and given keynote presentations on sustainable Morgan Stanley.

Henry Tran, CTO at 6Connex

Henry Tran is an executive with 20+ years of business and technology experience, including leadership roles at Virtustream, PROS, Rackspace, and Alert Logic. He has built his career successfully transforming organizations’ Product Management, Technology, Customer Success, and Operations capabilities, including converting established, traditional software businesses to SaaS. Tran started his career as an engineer with a Cisco Certified Internetwork Engineer certificate, where he was awarded two patents.

Bob Zeitlinger, a seasoned business-to-business public relations professional,  serves as senior vice president at Makovsky + Co., a leading independent integrated marketing communications agency headquartered in New York City. Zeitlinger leads the firm’s B2B technology and sustainability practices, providing strategic guidance on clients’ external communications strategies. He works with clients ranging from the well-established to start-ups in industries such as computing, automotive, IT services, financial technology, and meetings technology.
